About Overture
You spent decades building your wealth. Retirement is about making thoughtful decisions with it—enjoying the life you have worked for while preserving the financial flexibility and legacy you want to create.
Overture Wealth Management helps retirees and pre-retirees navigate the complex decisions that come with accumulated wealth: creating a sustainable income strategy, reducing taxes, investing prudently, and transferring wealth efficiently to the people and causes that matter most.
Founded by Sean Dwyer, CFP®, CFA®, EA, after more than 20 years in financial services—including 14 years at Vanguard—Overture was built around a simple idea: financial advice should be aligned with your goals, not the size of your portfolio.
Unlike traditional wealth managers who charge a percentage of assets under management, Overture charges a flat annual fee based on the complexity of your financial situation. This approach can reduce the lifetime cost of financial advice for many successful retirees, allowing more of their wealth to support the goals that matter most—whether that means greater retirement flexibility, helping family, or leaving a meaningful legacy.
By intentionally limiting the number of households served, Overture provides a highly personalized relationship where clients work directly with their advisor across retirement planning, investments, taxes, and legacy decisions.
As of June 30, 2026, Overture manages approximately $21 million of investments for 15 client households.
Meet Sean
OWNER & WEALTH MANAGER | CFA® | CFP® | EA
I am the founder of Overture Wealth Management. I combine comprehensive financial planning, evidence-based investment management, and proactive tax planning to help individuals and families approaching or living in retirement make confident financial decisions.
I hold the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® (CFP®) designation, the Chartered Financial Analyst® (CFA®) charter, and the IRS Enrolled Agent (EA) license. I am also a member of NAPFA and Flat Fee Advisors.
For more than 20 years, I’ve helped individuals and families make informed financial decisions through changing markets, evolving tax laws, and every stage of retirement.
I began my career at UBS Financial Services in 2003 before joining Vanguard the following year. During my 14 years at Vanguard, I developed deep expertise in retirement planning, investor education, and portfolio management while gaining a lasting appreciation for disciplined, low-cost investing.
I graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (B.S.B.A.) with a concentration in Finance. My education provided a strong analytical foundation that continues to shape my approach to financial planning, investing, and helping clients make informed decisions.
Before founding Overture Wealth Management, I spent six years as a Wealth Manager with a Philadelphia-based registered investment advisory firm, advising high-net-worth clients on comprehensive financial planning and investment management.
In January 2025, I launched Overture Wealth Management to create the kind of advisory firm I always wanted clients to experience—one built on independence, transparent pricing, and highly personalized advice. As a fee-only fiduciary, I believe financial advice should always be aligned with the client’s best interests.
As a CFP® professional, CFA charterholder, and Enrolled Agent, I combine financial planning, investment management, and tax expertise to help clients make well-informed decisions with confidence.
My investment philosophy was heavily influenced by Vanguard founder Jack Bogle, who believed investors ultimately retain only what remains after investment expenses, advisory fees, transaction costs, and taxes. That philosophy continues to guide my approach today, emphasizing disciplined investing, low costs, and proactive tax planning to help clients maximize their long-term after-tax wealth.
My wife and I live near Philadelphia with our two daughters. Outside of work, I enjoy skiing, biking along the Schuylkill River Trail, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pitt Panthers.
