About Overture
At Overture Wealth Management, we understand that your financial future is deeply personal — and deserves a thoughtful, meaningful approach tailored to your unique goals.
Founded by Sean Dwyer after more than 20 years of guiding clients through investment and wealth planning, Overture Wealth Management LLC was built to deliver more than just standard advice. Drawing on his deep professional experience and personal values, Sean crafted a time-tested approach focused on helping clients achieve stronger financial outcomes and the freedom to pursue the life they envision.
Based near Philadelphia, Overture is registered with Pennsylvania’s Department of Banking and Securities. We offer in-person meetings to local clients and provide virtual services to clients across most U.S. states.
A Foundation Built on Trust
Trust is the cornerstone of everything we do. As an RIA, we operate in a true fiduciary capacity–legally and morally bound to put your interests first. While many advisors in the industry claim to be fiduciaries, Overture truly walks the talk. As a fee-only advisor, we are compensated solely by the flat fee our clients pay–never by commissions, product sales, or referral fees.
The Importance of Comprehensive Planning
We look at the full picture—not just your investments. From retirement planning and tax strategies to estate considerations and cash flow management, our holistic approach ensures all aspects of your financial life are working together. This coordination is key to protecting and growing wealth over time.
Costs Matter
Research has consistently shown that, on average, lower costs investments tend to outperform higher cost investments over the longer term. With this in mind, Overture’s preferred investments tend to carry below average expenses relative to their peers. We generally recommend high-quality, low cost Exchange Traded Funds (ETFs) that have no transaction fees to buy or sell through our preferred custodians. In addition to keeping investment fees lows, we also seek to minimize the tax impact of investing whenever possible.
In the financial services industry, most advisors today are compensated under an Assets Under Management (AUM) fee structure, where the more assets managed for a client, the larger the dollar fee paid to the advisor. Additionally, under an AUM structure, fees are often stated only as percentages rather than in actual dollar amounts, which can make it harder to understand the true cost. At Overture, we believe our flat fee approach is a fairer, more transparent, and more conflict-free way to charge for ongoing advisory services.
We limit the number of clients we serve so that every relationship receives the attention it deserves. You can expect proactive communication, timely updates, and a responsive partner who understands your unique priorities. When you call, we know your name—and your unique goals.
Advice Tailored to Your Needs
No two financial situations are the same—and your advice shouldn’t be either. For clients looking for a long-term partner, we provide ongoing portfolio management and comprehensive financial planning, helping you stay on track through market shifts, tax law changes, and life transitions. For those who simply want a one-time, in-depth review, or who have a more focused advice need, we offer standalone financial planning that delivers a detailed, actionable plan you can put into practice immediately. Whether you’re seeking an enduring relationship or a single, high-impact engagement, our approach adapts to your goals, timeline, and priorities.
Navigating Challenges that Hold Investors Back
Even smart, successful people can make financial missteps—often because emotions, habits, or outside noise get in the way. We see it all the time:
- Holding too much cash and missing out on long-term growth opportunities.
Putting off important decisions and letting inertia keep money idle or plans unfinished.
Chasing performance by buying what’s been hot lately, only to get burned when trends reverse.
Reacting to market swings instead of sticking with a disciplined, well-constructed plan.
At Overture, we help you sidestep these traps. We act as a sounding board and a guardrail—bringing data, perspective, and experience to every decision. By replacing reactive moves with intentional strategies, we keep your plan on track and your money working toward what truly matters to you.

Years Of Experience
Sean Dwyer is the founder and sole practitioner at Overture Wealth Management. He is both a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional and a Chartered Financial Analyst® charterholder. Sean has over 20 years of experience in guiding and advising clients with investment and financial decisions.
Sean began his career in 2003 at UBS Financial Services in Pittsburgh. Soon after, he joined Vanguard in Malvern, PA, where he spent the next 14 years building his personal financial planning acumen. During his tenure, he held various roles focused on investor education, retirement advice, and personal portfolio management.
At Vanguard, Sean adopted a foundational principle inspired by the firm’s founder, Jack Bogle. To paraphrase Mr. Bogle, “Investors only keep their net returns–net of fund fees, advisor fees, transaction costs, and taxes.” This philosophy shaped Sean’s approach to portfolio management, which he has incorporated into Overture’s portfolio management strategy.
In the six years leading up to founding Overture, Sean served as a Wealth Manager for a nationally recognized RIA in the Philadelphia area. Here, he worked closely with high-net- worth and ultra-high-net-worth families, offering strategic portfolio management, financial planning, and comprehensive wealth management solutions.
Sean graduated magna cum laude from the University of Pittsburgh with a B.S.B.A. in finance. He is both a CFP® professional and a CFA® charterholder.
Sean resides near Philadelphia with his wife and two daughters. When not assisting clients, Sean enjoys spending time with his family and friends, skiing, and biking on the Schuylkill River Trail.
